Book Donation Drive
  • Books have long been regarded as the ultimate companions of human beings. Yet, many who come across these treasured friends often misplace or neglect them once finished—though of course, there are always exceptions.
  • To address this, we at 'CaN' have taken the initiative to collect used books and donate them to libraries across India. This not only ensures their proper preservation but also serves as a meaningful contribution to society. The drive was conducted in collaboration with the NGO SAMPARC.
  • SAMPARC (Social Action for Manpower Creation) is a non-profit charitable trust established in 1990 in India. It focuses on the rehabilitation, care, and educational development of orphaned children, children of sex workers, and other underprivileged children in need.

  • CaN members donated approximately 5 sacks of clothes, with each sack containing around 20 garments, to the NGO Goonj.
  • Goonj is a pan-India organization focused on re-positioning clothing and other underutilized materials. Their mission goes beyond charity—emphasizing dignity and transforming these resources into powerful tools for development among the underprivileged.

Dear Friends,

Warm greetings from the Association for Promoting Social Action.

APSA is a child-centred community development organization. We believe that development without the participation of traditionally deprived communities is not development at all. Inspired by the motto, “For Development without Exploitation,” we work at macro levels—both state and national—through advocacy and policy planning initiatives.

At the grassroots level, we empower the urban poor through community-based, interconnected projects that promote human and democratic rights. APSA runs a home called Nammane [“Our Home”], which combines a crisis intervention center for children in acute distress with APSA's Regional Residential Training Center for street and working children.

Through our work with street children and child laborers, we have become acutely aware of the dangers they face—particularly physical and sexual abuse—on the streets and in workplaces, especially at night.

We also run the Dream School, which caters to school dropouts, child laborers, and the children of migrant construction workers.

We sincerely thank you for your generous donation of 1,000 notebooks for our children. On behalf of the staff and children of APSA, we extend our heartfelt gratitude for your kindness and support.

Thank you once again. We look forward to further interactions and continued cooperation in the future.

Sincerely,

For APSA
